The Project

Hosted by KPMG, The Connected City Conference showcases innovations for the next generation of city living. The eventfeatures global and regional speakers, and showcases cutting-edge technologies from IoT, blockchain and AI to data analytics. The organisers of the event wanted a shared platform for moderators, speakers and participants, with the ability to interact and engage with their audience in real-time.

At live events, time is critical. Moderators usually have only a couple of minutes to gather questions. The mobile app delivered on both counts: as a platform for content and resources, but also to spark discussions.

What We Did

A web app and live polling to give audiences a voice

We created a web app for participants and moderators, and paired this with an account on a cloud-based platform to help organisers access insights and activate content in realtime. The audience used their smartphones to submit questions which showed up instantaneously on the app. This created opportunities for everyone in the group to participate and express their opinion, to gather thoughtsand explore perspectives in real-time.
